I was given 3/4 of a box of 14mm thick bamboo flooring a couple of months back and this is one of the projects from just 1/2 of one of the boards. I glued together 2 pieces of 3 1/2 inch wide x 7 inches long flooring and then cut this bowl from it. The bowl is 6 inches in diameter and about 2 1/4 high. Finished with Tung Oil.

That's pretty slick. I got some birch flooring a while back and it makes a nice finished piece. But it has a corrugated bottom - yours looks like a flat bottom. Nice.

Ray I milled the corrugated bottom flat with my thicknesser and then ran it over my 18 inch drum sander to further smooth it.

Nice looking bowl and any one offers some wood flooring grab on. I was given quit a bit of oak a few years ago and have use it in many project. Never have tried a bowl.

Nice work. Bought the book on how to make them, but haven't yet done anything.

Ohhh - is that why it's 14mm rather than 19mm (3/4")? Makes sense.

DW,
Your work is always so skillfully completed. It's obvious that you put a lot of thought into your projects because they all are so very well done.
