Does she have a current hobbie?  Knit, crochet, paint?  Might look through a site like "Peninterest.com".  Tons of craft ideas there.

I met a lady from Maine that makes hats for babies. They sell like hotcakes.

I make jewerly (mostly earrings).  I buy my beads and accessories on e-bay (much cheaper and always free shipping). I can then sell them reasonable inexpensive and still make money.  I also do stained glass, christmas and other holiday ornaments sell best.  crocheting baby booties seem to sell well also.  You can get free instructions online. www.Pinterest.com has lots of hobbies with instructions. Check it out.
