Title: New member & scroller
Post by: gkas on November 30, 2014, 12:19:03 am: I'm Gerry. I'm a woodworker, and I just decided to give scrolling a try. I'd like to do some new stuff that I can't do with my bandsaw. I've done my research, and I'm going to pick up a DW788 tomorrow. Scrolling toys and such seems more relaxing after hauling around sheets of plywood and 2x4's for other projects. ::)

It is nice to be able to complete a project in a day instead of a month and you should have plenty of scrap to practice with. Hardest thing I found is staying in the lines no fences on a scroll saw; its like when you were a kid trying to color a picture and stay in the lines.

Post by: gkas on November 30, 2014, 09:37:02 pm: I can't wait to get started. I reconsidered picking up a 788. Since I couldn't find any real complaints about the Excalibur, I went to the Seyco web site and ordered a EX-21. As a bonus, no tax and free shipping. Wiggling in my chair. ;D
