How do I save something as a PDF file to send the file?
-
Hi Judy,
Many programs (Gimp, Inkscape, MS Word) have the option to "print" to PDF. To use this option you must first have a PDF "printer" installed. I use a freeware program called CutePDF http://www.cutepdf.com/ .
Once installed, when you click on Print from a program like Gimp, you can select the printer you want to use from a drop-down list. CutePDF will be one of them. It works well for me.
Hope this helps,
Jim

Hi, Judy,
I think it definitely depends on what program you are trying to save from.
For example, here are instructions to save a Photoshop Image to .pdf
http://www.ehow.com/how_6972641_save-pdf-photoshop.html
and here are a different set of instructions if you are trying to save from the Gimp program
http://www.ehow.com/how_8382857_save-pdf-gimp.html
If you google something like "save"inkscape+image+to+pdf" you should get a link to instructions for the exact program you are using.
Good luck and God Bless! Spirithorse

Judy - If you open MS Word and Insert Picture, you can size it to an accurate print size. Then go to File/Save As... and scroll down a little on the file type until you see PDF. This will save the file out as a PDF.
For other programs like GIMP, I use a free driver called BullZip. It looks like a printer on your Windows computer (File/Print then select the printer called BullZip), but creates a PDF file rather than print on paper.http://bullzip-pdf-printer.soft32.com/free-download/ (http://bullzip-pdf-printer.soft32.com/free-download/)
