Title: Brass Nameplates
Post by: DWSudekum on August 12, 2014, 07:46:50 pm
Cut from .022 inch brass plate.  The plates are 1 inch high and 4 inches long.
Cut with a #3 jewlers blade.

Those look nice.  Did you sandwich the brass between wood pieces to cut it?  I have a couple metal cutting blades from Mike's Workshop I hope to try one of these days.

What I did was to take and tape the nameplates with that blue painters tape on one side and then glue the name pattern on it, drill the entry holes with a #58 drill and cut it at medium tension and 4 on my dial ( dewalt 788 ).  Took my time cutting them.

I bought my first ever metal cutting blades about 2 weeks ago.  I have been scrolling for about 16 years and have never cut metal.  Once I have everything out of the way that is the first thing I am going to do, you have inspired me DW. Great work as usual.
