Title: Wooden Log Boxes

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I am wanting to make some boxes with drawers in them out of a pine log. I saw some while on vacation in Williams, AZ. Basically they are about 3 to 5 inches thick and have like a small drawer for jewelry in them. Does anyone know how to make these using a scroll saw?

If the log is small enough you could make it on the scroll saw, but it would be more like a branch than a log. Steve has a similar design but made by scroll saw cutting 3/4" lumber then laminating it together to make the box:http://www.stevedgood.com/scrollbox.pdf (http://www.stevedgood.com/scrollbox.pdf)

Thanks this might help some. I guess saying "log" might bee too much. It is more of a branch size box. Nothing huge, just about the size you can hold in your hand. I will check out the info you gave me.

I actually just stumbled upon this very thing on youtube. If I can find it again, I will forward the link. Try searching it on youtube in any case. He used a small 2 inch branch as I recall...

Great let me know if you find it. I bought a small SKIL Band Saw and plan to put it together this weekend. Thought it might help to use that to make boxes.
