Does anyone know how to put clipart into inkscape to make a patterns. I found a video on youtube but can't find it again.

in Inkscape go to
{file} {import}
then choose the file
although that said you may have to edit in GIMP first

I do all the time as above and if I want the outline of the image I use the trace bitmap under path.

This will give you an outline of the image that you can now scale as vector.
