Title: Friend became 50 (Abraham)

my friend Robe became 50 and he plays soccer and loves to fish.
so made him a personal gift.

font is called Ravie
1" radiate pine, this one is sanded.
size = 3,5" x 10"
have to do the last sanding and still thinking how I'll gonna finish it.

I Holland we call getting 50: to become Abraham or Sarah.....
People get a big dummy in the front yard and a banner so the whole neighborhood knows you are 50.
just curious.... do you have the similar traditions in your country?

Very nicely done Marcellarius.  I am sure that he is going to love that, it will be especially special because it is his 50th and was made by a good friend.  Thanks for sharing this with us.

He is going to really get a kick out of that, you did a great job, well done.  No we have no traditions for a 50th just a party, yours sounds great though.

Beautiful work there Marcel, he will love it.  (I turned 50 ages ago, so you can save on the dunny and the banners lol.My next big one is 60 in a year and a half, do you celebrate 60th birthdays ia any special way over there?)

depends on the people. some do nothing special,
but most will do a little extra, but not in the same way as we put big banners and dummies in the front yard.
most people celebrate the what we call "crown" years. 60, 65, 70 and so on.
most times the 10's (60, 70, 80) are reason for a big dinner party with lots of family.
