Here is a Padauk Cross I made. The first picture is how it looks right now. The 2nd picture is the way I want it to look. I have a metal accent to glue in place, but not sure if wood glue will work or do I need some other kind of glue. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

That is going to look very nice with that accent installed. It's looking very good. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Looks great with the accent.
I am not sure that wood glue will hold. I would use 2 part epoxy.
If both surfaces were flat crazy glue might work too.

nice cross thanks for sharing

You might also check into the E6000 as it is supposed to stick to anything.

I'd use 2 part epoxy. Both surfaces need to be flat and cleaned with acetone for the best hold. 5 minute epoxy is plenty strong.
Alternatively, use a gel form of CA (superglue - several brands are on the shelves) - it takes a little longer to set (~30 sec) and the gel type will fill any space btwn the wood and metal.

Thanks all. I am going to finish this with the epoxy suggestions. I will let you know later how it all turns out. I found the small cross at Walmart when I went to get some coffee creamer last night. It was only $2.50 and I thought it might look good so I bought it on a whim.

that looks great, I too would use the "gel" type superglue

I've had pretty good luck with Silicone adhesive. Because it is thicker than most viscus glues it fills into any size pores on either material and gives a good surface/glue contact. Plus I haven't found a finish sealer silicone will dissolve - yet. I'm also to cheap to buy epoxy for the little I would use. Once open it's shelf life is short compared to a small tube of silicone. I don't like mixing A & B or the smell. But I do use spray mount for my patterns - that smell or "mess" doesn't bother me. To each are own. :)

Very nice work!

great cross Troy, and great metal piece as well, can't give you any advise on the glue because things they sell here probably won't be there in your country.... ::)
