Title: Cannot Open YouTube
Post by: Toneman on December 07, 2013, 09:07:15 am
I have always used IE for my default browser. I recently downloaded Google Chrome for a try. Now, I cannot open YouTube with IE. When clicking on the YouTube icon, my computer goes back to Google.com, which is my home page. If I use Google Chrome, I can access YouTube. Any thoughts on this? Do I need to delete Google Chrome or IE?

In Windows, there is a setting for which program to use as your default browser. By default (from the computer store Windows installation) it is Internet Explorer, but when installing Chrome you are asked if you want to make Chrome your default. I'd guess that is what happened. You can change back to IE on WinXP using Control Panel/Internet Options/Programs.

I don't know why your Chrome will not run YouTube videos - it should. Do you get an error message prompting you to add an add-on? There are lots of add-ons for Chrome. I use Chrome as my default and have no problem with YouTube.

The computer just "sits" Ray, does not ask or display any messages. I am thinking about just using Chrome as my default browser and see what happens.
