Title: Don't Knock All HF Clamps
Post by: countryscroller on November 26, 2013, 09:45:42 pm
I have learned my lesson with the quick release bar clamps from Harbor Freight, but these type of bar clamps work great! They have plenty of clamping pressure and seem durable. I am gluing up a piece for a portrait in the picture here. I have never owned any clamps like these and I like them because you can keep your workpiece nice and flat across the clamps while you clamp them. Of course you can spend more and get even better quality, but for only $8 per clamp vs about $15 for the next grade up I think it is worth it. Just thought I would share for those of you who glue up panels for scrolling and don't have a big clamp supply.

HF does sell some decent stuff but you do have to have a good eye to the differences in quality when you buy there.
