Do we have any 'plumbers' out there in cyberland?

I have a PVC water/supply line question!

I was a plumber for 18 years before working at the casino. What's the problem.

You guys are as funny as a fart in church!

Working with PVC. I have a brass hose connector to go on the end of the PVC and I have the female adapter.

Between the brass thread on the hose connector and the PVC female connector what should I use?
Pipe dope, teflon tape or just screw them together and try not to strip the PVC threads?
I already have all the fittings and don't care to make another run to HD or Lowe's.

Thanks for you kind assistance!

I HATE plumbing! But at least it is a water supply line and not WASTE!!!!!!

This is an extension of a line to get from a hose bib on the inside garage wall to the front of the garage so we don't have the damn hose laying across the floor when watering the flowers or washing the car. Will be used for nothing else.

Teflon tape should do the trick'

GrayBeard, Use Teflon tape. Two or three wraps around the male threads should do it.

I had to go ahead and I used the teflon tape, hooked everything  UP and turned on the water.

Lucky Me....NO leaks and the new valve works like a charm.

Thanks for the reinforcement! Just needed a bit of re-assurance that I made the right decision!

Nice to have friends who lend a hand!

Now I have this water heater....Not Now....too pooped!

Tomorrow is "Cutting Day"  ALL day!
