Does any one know what these are called? I think they add alot to a piece of work , I have been trying to find stuff like this on the internet but I can not figure what they are called.

Mike, haven't seen your name in a while. I think they are copper dome buttons. You would have to make the holes and maybe the larger ones you would have to make some cuts to get the same effect.

Go to Tandy Leathercraft and look at the decorative hardware including Conchos and see if any of them fit your purpose. I thought sure they were called "escutcheons" but most all of them were protective key plates surrounding key holes either that or were plumbing decorations. They did include the war shields and their decorations though too. Go figure! All of them sharing the same name. Oh also the stern plate on a ship.
