I made this using a modified Version of Steve Goodes Yin Yang box. I actually did fretwork of the star then poured in Colored resin ( I put to much coloring in there would have been nicer if it was more see thru but I was wanting to try the resin method ). The star was the scariest thing to do cause I was so afraid of it breaking while I was cutting. I want to try a few more and also try to do some with polymer clay. If anyone has experience using resins I've got a question I taped the other end and it still seeped through and the tape was hard to get off of the area with the resin so wondering what to use apart from gluing a piece under it.

Wonderful job, looks great, thanks for sharing.

Nice looking box, thanks for sharing the idea (resin).
I am thinking I would try some sort of plastic under the resin to decrease the adhesion, maybe even a sheet of teflon and have the project laying flat during the curing process.
Just an idea.

yeah but would you just use rubber cement to attach the plastic ? The tape didnt stick that much it was more the seeping through and having some of the resin getting under the tape that was my problem.

I think I would try clamping a rigid piece of acrylic or plexi to the back side or even a piece of glass.
The back side should be sanded as smooth as possible to keep the seeping down.
Since it swivels ther is no way to glue a piece to the back without leaving a 'ring' around the swiveling top.
Just suggestions.

well I was thinking of only a temporary gluing so that it can be pulled off once the resin is finihsed curing another option I could try is to use non Hardening Clay that is sometimes used in Mold making and just make sure that the area around the opening is pressed so it doesnt leave an area on the other side.

very nice looking box. Might want to cut the design get it all sanded and ready then glue a 1/16' or 1/32" backer on it that will then hold the resin and cover any bleed through.
