The actual bell tower is located in Santo Domingo de la Calzada, Spain. I obtained the plans from Finescrollsaw.com. The model is constructed of dimensional Basswood and Mahogany plywood. The columns
and spindles (120 of them) were turned on a lathe instead of scrollsawing. Height is 60 inches.

Great job
Did you put a bell in it?
Trying to do that one would make a ding-a ling out of me.

Just BEAUTIFUL....Makes my mouth water. I always have wanted to give a clock

I freely admit that I do not have either the patience or the organizational habits that it would take to build such a piece.
You Sir, are a Master Craftsman!

Beautiful work, it turned out super.

Thank you all for your kind comments!
In answer to questions, no I don't have close-up photos and yes I did install a bronze bell which is inscribed "Feliz Navidad" in Spanish (Merry Christmas). More detail can be seen on Photobucket by clicking on the magnifying glass at the right-bottom of the photo and then clicking the button indicating view original size on the next page.
Construction took about 6 months and I wouldn't ever build another one! I'm now looking for another project.

Looking at the close up - thanks for telling us how to do that - I can see how many tiny and many very delicate pieces were involved. It is really an impressive work and I have no problem with accepting the six month time frame. Both precision cutting and precision assembly. Wow (again). This is truly an heirloom piece and a work of art.

Wow !!! What can one say after seeing this. GREAT WORK .

Thanks again for the very generous compliments! In answer to a request from a forum member, I've added some detail pics of the tower. However, once enlarged, the pics get blurry. Photobucket responsible?
