Hey Y'all old Gabby here
just in case any are wondering I'm still kicking and making a nuisance of myself.
This year has been a real mess weather wise first it wouldn't warm up and dry out and now it's running tripple diget temps. so even though I've got the saw set up I don't feel much like cooking what little brains I have left. For those of you who don't know me my shop is a open sided carport that I share with my wife's Jeep and My Dodge P/U so in the winter I'm freezing them off and if it's hot like now they are cooking.
Health wise I'm doing pretty well and after not being able to eat my wife's excellent cooking I'm now eating everything in the house and my figure shows it. If it rains it pours.
Well enough of my belly aching I'm still hoping to get some cutting done this year but no guarantees.

Glad you are still ok Gabby, even if it's too hot to go out to scroll. lets hope the weather cools just enough for you to get out scrolling.

Good to hear from you Gabby! Glad you are feeling better too. You'll get to your scrolling when the time is right! Most important - you are feeling better. Thanks for checking in!

Gabby, don't worry about the heat frying your brain, hat ship sailed long long ago. Good to see ya post here.
-
Good to hear from you Gabby, so glad you are feeling better. Shame you don't have a little shed to scroll in. Would be easy to heat/AC.
-
Glad you're still drawing breath... love and hugs... Sheila

good to hear from you Gabby,
isn't it time to build a shop so you can work in winter also? ;)
glad you're doing well.
-
glad to hear from ya on here Gabby
-
Do you have room for a shed to be built, you could insulate it, then heat and cool it to scroll in.

You would hate to hear me describe my 24 by 24 shop with outlets all along the walls on 2 sides with fluorescent lighting, and no damn power to run it with, when we moved here it was cheaper to use a generator to power it with and I have a nice big 6KW one rusting down there due to the $4 per gallon gas prices. And now we don't have the 5 or 6 K to run power to it. So there it sits holding the junk we don't want to throw away and the tools I can't use. I even have a nice Jett lathe collecting dust and cobwebs, it is enough to make a grown man cry, being retired on SS and just hanging in there won't allow me to spend the wife's hard earned money to do anything about it and my get up and go is nearly gone. Don't get me started this getting old sucks big time. Golden years my A$$.
Sorry I didn't mean to turn into a cry baby, I just got on a roll.
Aw $h17!

Hey Gabby, it's about time you stuck your head above the parapet. We are going to have to get some serious horse rustling done to get some cash flow going. $4 for a gallon of gas, I'm paying the equivalent of $7.89 for a gallon of diesel, all be it a slightly bigger gallon it's still b***dy expensive. Good to see you're getting back in the "saddle", so to speak. Keep it up my friend.
Rob Roy.

$ 8,20 a gallon for 95 gas over here, $ 6,63 a gallon for the diesel....

Good to hear from you Gabby! I had wondered where you went. I missed the bantering between you and GB! ;D Seemed you two were having so much fun and it was always good for a laugh.

It is a shame that the oil companies and their CEO's are so greedy, one of these days it is going to come around and bite them where the sun don't shine. Being a child of the 50 and 60 I can understand profit but not highway robbery and greed.ust my two cents worth.

you're right. profit is a good thing, but ever since we have the Euro things got more expensive.
the ratio between our old money (gulden) and the Euro was 2.20 and now days a lot of thing cost the same in Euro's as they did in gulden's or even more!!.
and that's not due to the economy grow index..... think most of us did get used to it..... :(
if I calculate the fuel prices back to the old currency I bet know one would ride his car anymore.
live and learn right.... ;D

Well, it was just the other day that I wondered what had happened to the old horse thief. Glad that you are back with us Gabby. I have pondered the fact of getting old, not that I am nearly as old as you of course, then I thought of, " what is the alternative to growing old?". Your on the green side of the sod, that is the main thing. You got to show your face more often. Thanks for checking in. ;D ;D

OK So I'll regale y'all some more with my sob story, I get just shy of $800 per month SS
Which the Government controls the purse strings like it is their own. Keep in mind every dime was placed there by my employers and myself, in trust that it would all be there when it came time for me to stop putting my shoulder to the wheel. And thanks to good old LBJ the thief! They decided to convert it to the general fund. So now they can spend it any way they want too and they have, and now they tell us the SS Fund is broke. No mas Dinero. Reason enough to get a little P.O. ya think?
So after my prescriptions eat up over half of that measly $800 and I have to eat and help pay the utilities
how much do I have left for $4.00 gas. Care to guess? Zip nada zero. I'm a kept man and I know to tread lightly or I'll be living under a bridge somewhere but not for long without my local pharmacist. No nice little shed with AC and lights and heat in the winter just a drafty carport as long as the weather cooperates.. All this unloading is supposed to be good for the soul and all that jazz so why is it I'm not feeling better after laying all this crap on you nice folks with troubles of your own? I guess old Gabby just isn't feeling all that funny tonight. Again Sorry folks, you know I love you!

That's a tough story Gabby, feel sad hearing this.
can imagine you're p.o. if they don't deliver as promised!
hang in there, and don't be sorry!
you know we all love Gabby,
no matter what! ;-)

We luvs ya too Gabby. It is tough all around but ya gotta hang in there. Do what you can when you can. With regard to unloading, feel free to unload anytime. All of us here on this forum are like family, we are there for you.
-
Same here. Hang in there Gabby, we will have to find a way to "party on" and have a good time our own way. Jeff44

Thanks for the uplifting words and feelings, it's one of the reasons this forum is so special we always support one another like family, no matter what part of the world we are from. I'm not the first to "Vent" and probably won't be the last, just as long as we aren't venting AT one another.
Feeling a bit better now. "Ever kiss a mules A$$? No but I've always wanted to."
I love that line.
