The other day I was watching one of Steve's videos on repairing broken fretwork and he mentions that he put the pattern on with the grain going the wrong way. I had to chuckle because I have done this myself several times, so I thought I would share a simple trick to help avoid this. When prepping a project I always lay my painters tape in the direction of the wood grain, that way if I step away and forget the direction of the grain the tape will remind me
