While taking a vandalism report at an elementary school, an officer was interrupted by a little boy about six years old.
Looking up and down at his uniform, he asked, "Are you a cop?"
"Yes," he replied and continued writing the report.
...
"My mother said if I ever needed help I should ask the police. Is that right?"
"Yes, that's right," he told him.
"Well, then," he said as he extended his foot towards the officer, "would you please tie my shoe because i dunno how?"
And so the 'cop' does the deed and reinforces the image...

GB that is better than the one that happend to me!
Two young boys standing in the rear seat(prior to seat belt laws) looking out the rear window. They just barely able to look out. I was stopped behind the car they were riding in at a red light when they both flipped me the bird. I wonder where they learned that one at? ::) ::) ::)

While BBQing last summer one of the granddaughters walks up and says" be a man, tie a little girls shoe", didn't know what to say. I tied the shoe.

Over here they would have said TIE IT YOURSELF. Don't have time for them at the moment. The local ones don't have time for normal people that have a genuine problem still waiting for them to get back to me, 4 weeks isn't long enough obviously.
