Hello everyone. <My name is Jonathan, I live in Western KY. I am new to scroll sawing, I have a Sears pin type scroll saw and have used it a little in the past. My wife recently bought me a Dewalt 788 scroll saw (just waiting for delivery :) I am hoping to become proficient at this hobby. I had a good friend named Dave Gerzan that spent 60+ hrs a week in his shop making various scroll saw goodies. Dave passed away, he took his work very seriously, and enjoyed this hobby. Also I enjoy Amateur Radio, mainly during the winter months. My wife put gas heat in my workshop for Christmas, so I wasn't around the radio much :)

Well I thought so too....well until the table saw bit my left index finger. I was building my wife a pie safe while waiting for my new Dewalt 788 to come in. Well long story short.....while ripping a 1X8 pine board a few pieces of a pine knot hit me in the face, to which I was wearing safety glass :) but I flinched and as a result I pushed away and touched the saw blade. Unfortunately I had removed the guard to use a dado blade and failed to put it back.....short trip to the ER and 5 stitches later all is good. They couldn't numb my finger so it was a little extra pain. But I'm not counting fractions :) Note to self--always use safety guard. The one time I didn't use it........
