Title: Paper cutting
Post by: troy_curtis on April 06, 2013, 10:40:54 pm
I am thinking about doing some scroll saw designs cut out of paper and framed. I have seen this done before and like the idea. Not sure if anyone here has done this. If so and you have ideas or suggestions on it please let me know. I am getting an exacto knife set from a friend tomorrow. It has lots of different blades in it. So thought I'd have some fun trying this.

Hey Troy, I don't know if you've seen this guys work, but he says he uses regular printer paper and a #11 exacto blade. Amazing stuff.

That is neat work.  Some of it could be done on the scroll saw.  I have done a stack of paper sandwiched between some scrap plywood and it worked great.  I found some blank greeting cards and did my Christmas cards.  Backed the design with some colored foil and worked great.

I wonder where those patterns come from?  I would love to do the peacock.

I hope when I grow up and retire I can be just like Troy. Fantastic work Troy. The paper cutting could work out being able to set up in the house so the wife thinks I am paying attention. In the shop she knows I can't hear her.

for Troy and MikieD - and all the rest of us that have/use exacto knives.. After that sicko in Texas cutting all those folks, we will now probably have to register our exacto knives and submit to mental examination
