I just wanted to express my thanks to Russ C, Rapid Roger, and Gray Beard. I spent 5 hours today, hand sanding my table back down to bare wood, I did it by hand because I know from experience that sanding polly mechanically causes the "boogers" to get too hot and fuse to itself. Any way, I wanted to say thank you for your advice...it worked. I thought I was going to have to scrap that table but you guys helped me save a project that is very important to me and my soon to be wife as it will be a focal point in our wedding. THANK YOU.

You are very welcome. That is why we are here and why this site exists, to help others with various wood working problems.
Over the years I've had a lot of help from other more experienced woodworkers and I'm just trying to repay some dues.

I didn't have the know-how to offer advice on that particular project but I am glad you were able to salvage the table. Five hours of hand-sanding is indeed a labor of love. Best wishes for your wedding.

And Yes....Yepper.... When a Man puts in that much time on getting the job done
without Power Tools he is really interested in the outcome. Congrats in your
future.... Danny :+}
