Title: Why are some old pictures for sale as patterns

Ok I am too paranoid to try to post a pattern again much less sell one.  But I see patterns for sale that come from pictures that have been around from even before my time.  And why is it that one person charges for the same pattern that someone else is giving away?? 
I will just hunker down here in the boondocks of North Dakota with my saw and cut what I can.

Some people don't care about copyrights and probably figure that they wont get caught.  As far as giving away versus selling...that's up to the designer.  I sell 'cause I need the money lol.

I would scroll saw even if I didn't need the money. I am too old and ugly to make it the easier way   ;D
