Title: Iggy Giles
Post by: Gabby on February 06, 2013, 02:52:21 am
Does anyone  know what happened to Iggy
According to the log the last time he posted here was Feb. 22,12
while I was in the hospital?
Marg asked me a while back if I'd heard from him, I'm concerned he over did it and had a heart attack. He didn't know when to quit!

I was wondering about Iggy myself Gabby, and was hoping you could throw some light on what might have happened. Hope your assumption is way wrong. I used to be like that but learned my lesson,(almost) !!!!!.

I have been worried for a while.  I saw him when we stayed with him and Fran and he was fine except he was battling depression but we had a long talk and I thought he was going to get back to the forum.  After we returned I sent him an email now I have sent about 4 and a Christmas card, I would have thought that if there was a problem his wife or his daughter would have written but I have received nothing.

Well it's coming up on my new birthday soon the one I really don't remember too well, and I'm hoping he surfaces and tells everyone he was off to the Bahamas chasing wild women!

Hi all. Thanks for your concern, iggy is alive, and I am sorry for the lack of communication, but last year was my ANNUS HORIBALOUS as our Queen described hers when Diana died. 4 Deaths, (Three of them Family) and my best friend and best man at our wedding, lying in bed like a cabbage having had a massive stroke in August. Another friend has had both knees replaced, and I have been diagnosed as having no Cartilage in the first joint of my Right Ankle and have to go in for a new joint sometime soon.  I don?t mind the op but the specialist told me I had to give up smoking for 6 weeks before and 6 weeks after the op, ?Nightmare?.  There were a couple of positives about the year, namely; Bill (Gabby) recovered his ordeal and we had a welcome visit from Marg and Trevor. I tried to absorb myself in work to offset the depression and ended up wearing out my new EX 21, fortunately it was still under warranty so Axminster tools replaced it with an EX30 at no extra cost.
I am feeling a bit more positive now and have decided that it is no good hiding the depressive state under a bush as there are people out there who do care so thanks again for your support and concern especially to Bill, Keefie, Marg and Rob.

Great to see you back with us Iggy. You certainly have been through the mill big style. I'm happy to hear you are also getting back into the scrolling to keep your mind occupied. Keeps you looking outwards rather than inwards. Let's hope everything is settling down now for you, you're due a break. So get back on the forum and help me sort out this gang of thugs, and thugess, ( they know who they are), who keep extracting the yellow liquid. LOL. Need a bit of Celtic assistance!!.
Hope things go well with your cartillage problem. Hang in there Iggy. ;D ;D ;D ;D
All my best wishes to you and the family.

Life is a challenge, I hope the greatest part of your challenge is behind you. The buzz word today it " moving forward"' i hear it all the time in conversations with administration and people in authority. That is going to be my philosophy from now on, I am not looking back only ahead. Take care, you have lots of friends here.

Iggy!
Great to have you back!
I think every one of us has had a trip down the road you have been traveling and most have learned the the 'hills' tend to get smoothed out when you have someone walking alongside.

We are here for you friend.

Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You scared the $#1T  out of me, please never do that again. I thought sure you'd had a stroke or heart attack from working too hard as I know ytou don't know when to quit.
Yes this has been a crapy year for many of us, Mine as you know started this month a year ago, whew I survived it, In October my best friend and Big Brother 12 years my senior suffered a heart attack on the I-5 freeway between here and Medford Oregon and struck another vehicle and over turned and died at the scene, His friend and next door neighbor was with him and was severly injured and only recently returned home and back on his feet. Then the topping on the cake and the scare of my life, 2 days after Christmas Laurie suffered a massive heart attack but was whisked to the hopital in time. Between 3:30 PM and 8:30 PM they placed a stent in the blocked artery and when they were done the IMP called me and said "Hi honey I'm fine!" her son who was waiting in the waiting room learned she was OK after I did. Jesus answered my prayer is all I can say! Again -- ---------- HALLELUJAH  !!!!!!!!
I'm sure glad 2012 is over and hope and pray 2013 is better for us all.
Welcome back friend Ian and I'm sure everyone here is praying for you and your family!

Nice to see you back. The stop smoking thing can be tough,I quite one year ago, believe it or not by reading one small book. The easy way to quit smoking by Alan Karr.I have it in e-book.It's only 117 pages but will change a smokers life,-IF YOU ARE READY TO QUIT. This little book helped me and I have been smoke free for 10 months, and I smoked for 42 years. If you would like the book let me know.Good Luck and God Bless.

With regard to smoking, a person cannot stop smoking until they are ready. They must make the decision and want to quit. When I quit, after smoking about twenty years, it was like someone flicked off a switch.  That was about thirty years ago. I remember I kept a full pack available, and told my self, " I will have a smoke later". Later has never come. That is my story and I am sticking to it. ;D

Thank you all for your very kind comments, it seems I am the one skulking in a corner while some of you have had far more trials and tribulations than me. Gabby particularly had more than his fair share of the darker side of things last year, and yet he has been a consistent friend to me in my absence, sending me messages of encouragement even when I did not bother to reply. So thanks for that Bill and also thanks to Marg and Keefie for their support.
Anyway back to the plot, the weather is improving slowly and I am back in the workshop/Garage again and am considering taking the S/S out of the kitchen and back to the garage again (That will make management very happy). I am beginning to feel the need to show off some of my stuff and need some serious tuition on uploading picks. Iggy   ;D ;D ;D ;D
