What type of glue do you prefer for intarsia and why?
Interested in the longevity, ease of use, as well as availability.

I normally use Aleene's, Fast Grab, Tacky Glue to edge glue my Intarsia pieces together as I sand them; I use it because it grabs fast and doesn't have the tendency to squeeze out as I place the pieces together. And then, when I fasten the whole Intarsia down to the backer, i use either Elmer's Yellow glue or Titebond lll. And, the reason is: it flows easy and doesn't grab as fast; giving me time to place glue on both intarsia and the backer.

I typed out a reply then saw that Al had done the same. Almost word for word so Needless to say I agree. Saves me a bunch of typing. Good Luck :):)

Thanks..
Making a supply shopping list and got to glue.
This also answered another question, do you group sand pieces. Two for the price of one.

I don't quite understand your question. (Group Sand, Two for the price of one).
Each piece is sanded individually.
When I finish sanding the first piece I'll go ahead and sand the second piece, then edge glue it to the first piece and so on

I need to check out some of these glue types. I have only used gorilla glue on my projects. I think I will investigate the glue you mention here. My gorilla glue is good for some things, but gets frustrating when trying to glue my intarsia projects.

I use Elmers white glue for Intarsia. It dries clear and is cheap but does grab quickly.

Two for the price of one was just a reference to getting two questions answered.
Unit sand or group sand is a technique I have seen described in several tutorials. A group of pieces are edge glued then sanded/shaped.
