This is one I finished a few weeks ago. It is one of Steve's and is cut from a slab off an old aspin that I cut down several years ago. It was not a good wood, no matter how much sanding it has a dirty look to it.

Looks great! I have some slabs of ash that I've been wanting to do something with. Maybe one of them will be a clock.

The cutting looks very nice, the wood appears "mature"? I like it, the color variations in the wood make the cutting stand out and say "Look at me" and mean it. Well done.
