Title: Looking for Compound Cut Guitar
Post by: IBMer on December 07, 2012, 11:44:04 pm
Hello, I'm looking for a compound cut Acoustic guitar pattern.   My uncle who has lung cancer asked that I make him a "Real" guitar, but that's far beyond my abilities.  I thought that I could maybe make him a small compound cut guitar for now, until I become more "skilled"..

I tried a google search, and found some pictures of a completed compound cut guitar, but no patterns.

Have you seen the guitar in Steves pattern catalog? It's not a compound cut but it may work for you. It's filed under "Miscellaneous".

Hey John, bb in GA here! We've met.
Check out my website for a guitar puzzle at www.pickenspuzzles.com

If you want the pattern I can send it to you. If you want the actual puzzle, I can send that too. Let me know.  The pattern should be published soon in a magazine.

I used a combination of patterns and a little pencil work to make this guitar/clock for my son a few Christmas's ago. It might give you some inspiration and ideas for yours.

There is a small block with a "key hole" slot on the back of the upper end for hanging it on the wall.

Hello BB in GA.   Yes, you do seem familiar to me, not quite sure where I might have met you ;-)   So, are you a Syracuse University fan, or just like Oranges?   By the way, the fellow strapped to my chest is my clone, Mini-Me..   I was bored one day and did a little photo-editing using a snapshot from the movie Austin Powers.   Mini-Me is Doctor Evil's clone in the movie.

Thanks for the pattern offer, I'll go check out your site when I close here.   It's been a crazy week.   My mother suffered a heart attack Monday morning.  I was out in my workshop making a little sawdust when she showed up in the doorway clutching her chest and short of breath.   I recognized it immediately as a heart attack and called 911.   They put a stent in for a blocked artery.  Doctor said she was super lucky to have got into the hospital so quickly.  Maybe 15 minutes from the on-sent of the attack.   She spent 6 days in ICU and was released Sunday.  She is home now resting...    I haven't been able to get out to the shop much this week, but hopefully can finish up a few projects before Christmas comes.

Thanks Al, mom lives with me now, so I get to see her often ;-)    She was very lucky that I was home and recognized the heart attack.  The doctor said that any delays could have been fatal.
