My final battle with cold callers was to get rid of the home phone. Only one who ever called was them or bill collectors. So my wife and I use our cell phones. For now cells seem to avoid most these kind of calls.

But back in the day when I had a home phone I would get calls asking for a MR. DeCurtis. I could simply tell them they had a wrong number, no DeCurtis' at that number. They got the name from anything I might have filled out using my middle initials (yes I have 2 middle names) One initial is D. and the other is E. So they would see DE Curtis and think it was DeCurtis. This has helped me so many times in the past. =)

I am on a Do Not Call Register which means that it is illegal for them to ring me . Best thing that one of the government depts came up with.

Unfortunately, the Do Not Call registry does not always stop them.    If it is a live person, I find blowing a whistle - loudly - tends to dissuade them quickly.

Great find Keefie. I used to do my imitation of a little ole Chinese man. I agree Al W, the Do Not Call registry does not always stop them.   8)

Ya, I was on that list...and yet they still called. When you complained that you were on the list they just said, Oh I didnt know that...not sure how we got your number...blah blah blah. Ever try finding out where they are calling from? Best thing I did was get rid of the home phone.

Yep, I am on that usless list also.  Tripiical goverment idea.  Anyway what I do I answer the phone, Find out who or what it is then ask them to hold on for a secend while I find my hearing aid, put the phone down and go back when I hear it beepping.  Couple times of that and they give up..  :):):):):)
