My sister is hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year so I thought I'd give her a little thank you gift. This is Steve Good's pattern made from walnut.

Nice project. It just occured to me, what do you finish a trivet with??? Concerns with really hot dishes, pots or pans.

Meister, good question. I was wondering the same thing. I just used BLO and let it dry a few days. I put a coat of beeswax/mineral oil on it to give it a bit of a sheen. If anyone else does trivets, what do you use as a finish? Will polyurethane hold up?
