What photo programs do you use to store your family photos on, only I need a new one and I'm not sure what to do. A friend suggested Photobucket to put them on but I don't know. Any suggestions will be helpful, unless it comes from Gabby and then I'm not so sure.  LOL

Hey Marg,  I you need a bucket for those pictures, I have nice one.  Plastic, I even cleaned it out after garden season.

I store all of my photos on my computer with a dual back up -  on to a DVD and one to a thumb drive. I back up my computer about every two weeks. I add to the thumb drive whenever I think it needs it and I put all the pictures on a new DVD about once a year or so.  (usually in the winter when it to cold to be in the shop). Many other ways to keep picts but this works for me.

I use Photobucket and have had good luck with it for 5 years. It takes some getting used to when you want to post a picture on a forum but, it's not hard after a short while.

Can't beat picasa 3 but make sure to back them up, on an external drive if possible, to save losing them all.
I am talking from experience.

Marg, I've used Picasa for a long time and do like the program.  It's great for storage and for editing the pictures as well.  Not as powerful as some other programs but it's free, reliable and  fairly easy to learn.  But I agree with others about doing a back up as well.  Always a good idea!

You can also try flickr.com It's a site I have used for a few years. It's owned by yahoo.com. All you need is a free yahoo e-mail account. You have a choice of sharing/not sharing your photos. I have all of my patterns on there instead of my hard drive.

I don't like Picasa, it takes to much control of your pics/computer. I use Photobucket.  8)

I prefer to just store them in folders on the hard drive.  I have an external drive which backs up all data weekly just in case.  I never liked the software that wanted to categorize pics for me.
