Hi to all my friends here!
Some may know from my FB postings that I started a new plumbing job.
It is for a 24 hour on call service shop, so basically right up my alley. I started on the 11th, so 13 days ago. I have worked on 5 of those days and had 5 of those days off and that leaves 3 days with no work while being on call.
I can still do math!
1 of those days off I had some of my own work to do!
Time will tell if it really will work out for me. He wants me available at all times when I am on call. Like today, I sat around home while getting no calls, but if he sent me one I would have to jump to it and go. A bit frustrating when nothing happens and you are wondering all day if something will. Then you can't go out and about and do your own thing either.
So that's where I am at for now.

PLUS, I don't remember seeing ANY duct tape on the truck I am driving for him, what have I gotten myself into!!! Gonna have to use his credit card and buy 10 rolls or so!!! ;D ;D ;D

Congratulations Harold! Hopefully I'm next! Haven't heard a good duct tape joke around here lately!

Hope it works out great for you Harold!

Congrats Harold. God brought you to it, have patience he'll make it work for you... God Bless... Sheila

Make him furnish you a cell phone, so you don't have to sit and wait for his call. That's the least he can do.

hi Harold, congrats with the new job.
I hope it pays well.
can't you get some waiting money from the guy for being available 24/7, like a 5% or 10% waiting fee for every hour you sit there and wait?
sounds fair to me.

congrats on the new job Harold.

Can you scroll while waiting?

Major congrats. And Larry beat me to the punch; scroll while you're on call.

Yup, I would make sure the phone rings LOUDLY and set it in a bowl (amplifier) in the shop and enjoy the wait.
