I just want to say how much I really appreciate this scrollsaw site. It has helped me so much in the past 6 months as I work to learn my new hobby. Honestly without it I doubt I would be working so much with my saw and doing half the things I have done.
I got a wood lathe about 11 years ago. I worked on it for 2 years teaching myself how to use it. I love my lathe, but it isn't easy learning when you have no one to help or encourage you. Don't get me wrong, my wife encourages me for all I do, but she doesn't know anything about these tools.
After 2 years of working with a lathe I made about 5 or 6 projects and that is all. Then my lathe had to be put into storage for 9 years while we lived in places which did not have the accommodations to work with it. Now I have it out and thought I would just hop on the computer and go to a site similar to this on for wood turners.
Well, sad thing is there is not a site even close to what this one does. Most the sites are local and most all of them want you to pay some yearly membership fee to their association. It is a sad thing for wood turners that they don't have such a site. But for us scroll saw enthusiasts, I love this site and we are lucky to have it. Thanks Steve Good.

It is a great little community we have here Troy!
-
Well we are glad YOU are here!
Go over to <lumberjocks.com> and look around there and maybe ask a few questions and see if they can lead you to some 'turning' informational sites.

I couldn't agree more. I have learned so much here from these guys and gals, and still learn something new every day.

HEAR HEAR!!!!! I Raise my glass to you all THANKS!!!!!!!

I couldn't have said it any better. I would just like to add a big thank you to all the "family" here for all the help they have given me in the past (and hopefully in the future too lol) and especially to Steve and Russ for all the hard work and time they put in to keep the site running and safe. Thank you everyone.

Sorry if my thanks in my original statement didnt seem to include everyone here. Honestly I do thank all my friends and scrollsaw family, that was the whole intent and point of my statement. I did mention Steve by name, but that is primarily because this is his creation. There are some ok wood turning sites, but nothing with a community like this. Love you all and appreciate how much you all have supported and helped me learn so much in such a short time.

I personally took your statement to include everyone. That;s why I toasted everyone. The knowledge here is exceptional but it is not limited to long time scrollers and or the very experienced. Even when someone brand new posts or asks a question it is like a refresher course for me. I enjoy my extended scrolling family here and consider myself lucky to be associated with them. So once again Hears to all of you !!!!! THANKS!!!!!

Yep, what Billy said. Hear Hear.

I also appreciate the site, I don't post much as I couldn't even come close to the talent and expertise on this site. That said, I read everything !!!! ;D
-
mrtcurtis, I too thought you included everyone in your thanks, was just adding my own thanks to go with yours. (didn't mean to give the impression you didn't include everyone, sorry if I did.)

In full agreement with Keefie. A big thanks to every single one of you. You all know who you are ;D ;D Thanks again.
