The Elk is to Deer when covered in Moose ;D

Got moose and deer in my freezer. Wife's making a moose roast for supper! Yum Yum!
@Gabby - Pretty sure that's a Red Stag, not an elk. Little bit diminutive for an elk! Bull elk average over 700lbs. ;) ;D
Should also point out that the elk is the largest member of the DEER family. ;D
-
They do sell deer, elk and moose meat in some state. I believe alaska is one and I'm guessing some of the western state. I know we can buy buffalo here in Michigan.
-
@ Sorry Gabby but,
Straight from the encyclopedia;
"The elk or wapiti (Cervus canadensis) is one of the largest species of deer in the world."
So he is still a deer. LOL 8)

Well Marg me love, I'm not staying in me box. LOL
It is an Elk one of those puney coastal elk from the Pacific Nothwest.
The 6 by 6 bull I killed in AZ makes them look like babies and there are plenty that make him look small. I know they can top 700 but they run smaller up here. And they are some of the tastiest eating there is, my wife and I ate on that elk for 3 years, not all at once though. ;D
I know they are all of the Deer family and the largest is the Moose which is called elk in parts of Europe.
What's in a name. A steak by any other name would still be tasty.
I'm a staunch member of PETA,
That's People Eating Tasty Animals, Mashed potatoes and Gravy on the side, Yum Yum! You nailed it
Mr Murphy
OK now I'll have to raid the refrigerator all this talk has made me hungry. LMAO
