I have made 2 ornaments so far. Both were made out of 1/4 in Oak. I stained both them. When I mention to my wife about making some and painting them my wife says no, the natural wood color is so nice. But your work is fantastic and the paint looks good. Might be able to show my wife your work and change her mind some. I was thinking about using some Birch and painting them. Thanks for sharing your work. Love these ornaments.

Don't want to shatter your illusions mrtcurtis, but those are made from birch ply and finished with boiled linseed oil and thinners with 2 coats of lacquer on top, they haven't been painted.
