Title: Noob from South Wales - UK ;)
Post by: Stravides on August 23, 2012, 08:05:41 am
Firstly, thanks all - this forum and Site in general has convinced me to get my first saw and enter into the wonderful world of the scroll-saw.

I currently Live in Newport, South Wales in the UK and am quite new to cutting elements that are not essentially round..  I'm more at home with the Lathe, but after a number of years, I have decided to branch out into other mediums and methods.

I have an entry level scrollsaw but seems to do for the moment... will see how it goes.

Hi Stravides, welcome to the forum, I'm Keith from Cornwall. So not too far from you. I too am a woodturner and have branched out into scrollsaw work too (with the help of my extended "family" here in the forum). I started out with the most basic of saws too, but even though it takes longer to finish your projects, there is nothing you cant cut on a top of the range saw that you can't also cut on a basic one. Just let the sawdust fly and enjoy what you are doing.
