Title: In honor of
Post by: SheGold on August 23, 2012, 05:25:56 am
A while back I sent out an ungent request for help on a pattern to honor a fallen officer. Needless to say I had to hand draw it myself. This plaque is far from perfect but it was received by the officers Mother with tears on both our parts. The story about Josh is that he had gone to talk to a man about messing with teenage girls, no arrest intended. Josh stepped out of his car and rounded the front of his car where he was shot down. He died about an hour later. Josh was 26 yrs old and all he wanted to be was a police officer. He served out community from age 18 till his death. Not only is his Mother suffering but his wife as well. I'd like to thank those that commented and showed their support, Toneman, Keefie, Tomsunnu and 2 more that my horrible memory fails to supply. I am posting the plaque for you to see. Thank you.... Sheila

You did a beautiful job, Sheila.  I am very sorry for the loss.  My son-in-law is a police officer and hearing this story pains me.  We all know it can happen that fast.  It is tragic.

It always saddens me to see the loss of yet another of our protectors.  You have designed and cut a great memorial Sheila.  Thanks for sharing it with us.

Well done Sheila, well done.  May Josh's mom and family enjoy for many years, we continue to lament the untimely passing of some of our fellow officers up north as well.  Some of us still walk the thin blue line.

A wonderful tribute to a fallen hero from a special lady!
I don't know how you did it without leaving tear stains on the wood....

God Bless the fallen officer and you also!

Julie took the words right out of my mouth, I couldn't see a thing wrong with it. I'm sure the family will appreciate your effort and sentiment. Both are beautiful!
