It is finished. I decided that it looked better unpainted. The finish is shellac.

Looks quite nice DW. Is this a pattern you may share? I now have four grandkids, and one more on the way. Nice idea for a gift.

The pattern for the pig is actually a cutting board pattern that is free off the SSW&C website. Here is the link..

You will need to modify it for the bank but that is simple. The plug is just a short piece of 1 1/2 inch round dowel with a 1/8 inch dowel inserted to enable it to lock into place.
