As I read the posts I know that all of you have deep beliefs and faith (As so do we) and I am calling on your faith today. My younger brother ( Les, 56 years old) will be undergoing major heart reconstructive surgery. He is having the aortic valve replaced, 1 by-pass, a second valve repaired and the size of one chamber reduced in size. He has been on the list for a while now he has gone through pre-opp twice, his nerves are gone but yesterday he got the green light and is as I write in the OR. Please give him some thought today and all prayers are welcome. I am leaving for the hospital shortly to begin the long day ahead. Thanks Clyde

Well, we have seen what this group can do when it prays together so I too will drop a line to the "Head Scroller" and ask for his help.
And yes, Faith and Hope are powerful things!

My God how blessed am I to have found such wonderful people. Les went into surgery at 7:30AM this morning and 9 hours later the doctor came to us and said he was pleased with the 4 surgerys that he preformed on my brother. He will be kept under tonight and tomorrow they are going to wake him up. So we still need the prayers, I cannot wait to tell him that he had people all over the world, (literally) praying for him. Prayer is powerful, thanks so very very much. Clyde

Thanks everyone. Here is an undate on my brother. He had the 9 hour surgery on Thursday. His blood pressure dropped twice thursday night, Friday he was severely swollen. They need to keep him on the respirator because his tongue is still swollen. He is now 48 hours post opp and doing well according to the nurses. We were told that he will remain in CICU until Tuesday. Keep the prayers coming for his recovery. It has been a difficuly 2 days for us but knowing that we have people like you supporting us makes it a whole lot easier. God bless and thank you again. As layreader at my church I will keep each of you in my thoughts and prayers as I keep service tomorrow morning.

Sounds like he is a fighter and won't give in, my continued prayers are with you and your brother and all the family.

guess in times like this God gets a big pile of prayers.
I once heard a pastor say: a prayer doesn't have an expiration date!
imagine that!
hope things will get better soon.

Update, Just had a call from my sister-in-law. Les is moved from CICU to the step-down unit. That a lesser intensive ICU where they will prepare him to move to a regular room. He has all attachments removed and is on the mend. Thanks for all the kind words and prayers, they paid off. Thanks Clyde

Yeah !!! Glad to hear it. It is such a milestone getting moved to a regular room.
