I am new to all of this including sending messages over the computer. I have worked and run a pollination and honey business in New England until the boxes got too heavy to lift. Now it is a hobby, but now I am trying our scrollsawing and woodturning. Not very good at either, but there are plenty of trees in the back yard.
I bought a Delta scroll saw a few years ago and have now opened the box and tried making the grandkids a few fretwork pieces. They were sloppy but the kids encouraged me with their thanks.
I would really like to combine wood turning with scrollsawing but I cannot get the scrollsaw to sit on the lathe bed yet.
By the way, I need to build a stand for the scroll saw and would welcome any ideas for a stand which I could sit at to use.
Good to be here for a while......

Welcome to the forum! I'm Dan from Southern California. I could sure use some bees around here! I planted some tomato's, and without bees, I'm not getting any. Lots of Blum's, but no tomato's. Out of four plants, I have about 6 or 8 tomato's growing.
A lot of turners here also. I pretty much have a full shop including a mini Lathe although most of my work is on the scroll saw these days.
Did you get your electrical problem solved?

Welcome to the forum, I'm Al, from S. Calif. also.
I built a scrollsaw stand so I could sit while sawing. I have it on a mobile base so I can move it when cutting larger pieces and to gain access to the five drawers that pull out from the back side. I added the five drawers to use, what otherwise, would be wasted space.
I use a drafting stool to sit on and it's just the right height for me.

Thank you all for the welcome. I will try not to take advantage of such a helpful group. regarding my fuse blowing Delta, I have not gone to the store to get a larger cord yet. My problems are all start-up and practice issues. I need to find a good "sitdown" bench plan. Big issue is that I did not realize how much the dust bothers me. Probably years of smoking cigerattes and the bee smoker have taken their toll. I have hooked up a vac to the saw and wear a good mask which seems to help. Other than those, I would like to work some sort of scrolled design into a turned plate. Any suggestions of a gallery of someone who does this would be appreciated.
BTW regarding your question about bees on tomatoes; I met a real granola who thought that my bees would have dirty feet which would contaminate his plant flowers so he covers the flowers with plastic bags and polinates with an artist's brush. Can't wait to see the tomatoes. Maybe they will come wraped in plastic.

Welcome from Poppa Rob, I too am new to group, scrolling and such a nice bunch of people,
I took advantage of all the stand plans and suggestion that you got and will be going through them myself, I did have an ideal for one and will share it later if the need is still there,

I looked around and found this one that so far is my plan, I do have a few shop notes woodworking and woodworker magazines to go through before making up my mind, 250 or more, lol,
This is simple, to the point and good layout, well so far anyway,
