We are seeing Java more and more at work and updates come out pretty frequently.  As Sheila said it's a utility programs dispay properly and other functions.  Since it's getting more widely used, it's also becoming more of a target for the happy folks who write virus's so keeping it updated is probably a good idea.

JAVA is my job - my life!

JAVA is a programming language. It's working on all computers and therefor often and wide spread used. I'm a programmer for JAVA (aside of some other languages).

JAVA is also a slang word for coffee. I'm drinking that stuff all day long.

The updater you're seeing wants to get the newest version of the Java runtime - let the update do, what it wants to do is a good recommendation.

regards
Torsten

Thanks to all....I took your good advice and went thru the up-dating of JAVA.
Will we notice anything change by doing this?
And GB I have the top of the line anti-virus using NORTON.  Hope this is good enough.  Yes?  No?  Danny  :+}

NORTON is JUNK!!!! Go to

http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

and download the at home version it is free if you choose it they also have a pay one as well but trust me me it will stop anythging trying to get in the front door even if it is piggy backing with something else and it will let you know for sure. They even have a place where you can have gamming mode on which it does not pop up and close your game down at all...
