I had a similar issue with a computer, it turned out to be the power supply. Replaced it and increased to a 400W. Computer started fine. Just a suggestion on something to check.  8)

Like Russ said, power supply.  You can get the same symptoms if the hard drive is not finding the boot sector or if the jumper on a master drive has slipped off making the pc see it as a slave.

Try these as well ADVAST dot com for Virus protection do a deep scan (Home edtion is free) Defragler dot com as well Collages use this one (also free)
SUPERantispyware Not sure of the website name (also free) mine was doing the same thing and I used all these that a collage prof. friend of mine gave me these sites and now she fires right up and doesn't give me any problems at all..

Good luck to you I hope these work for you and anyone else who does the downloads of them...

Hello Your power supply is going bad replace it.
You also might want to do a clean reinstall of windows.
to fix any errors that might of cause do to the power supply
I would also check your memory and cpu if nothing else it could be a bad motherboard

If you have windows pre loaded on a small partition try hitting ( I think) F11 on start up when promted (should be in the bottom right hand corner) and go into diagnostics then just select scan and repair files or something like that It should repair any corrupted start up files.....Paul

I found this and ran it, speeded my PC up and got rid of a lot of junk. If you are useing this operating system. check it out. I have windows xp home.
http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm About a year ago I downloaded one of those clean up programs, supposed to be safe blah blah, it stripped my system and I had to format and reload windows o s from scratch lost almost all of my files. Only was able to recover some I had on disc. Do be careful and use system restore so you have a place to return to if it gets messed up. In my case that didn't even work, everything was corrupted.
