Bunny box
« on: February 18, 2014, 07:48:50 pm »
Created from the scrap of making wooden piggy banks.  This bunny box is 2 1/4 inches wide x 3 1/2 inches tall x 5 inches long.  It uses a 1/8 inch dowel as a hinge pin.  The box was tung oiled then top coated with shellac.  I have not yet decided on the if I am going to paint eyes and a nose on this one yet.  The whole project was done on the fly exploring the hinge idea.

DW, terrific and a neat concept, Is it your Plan? I think you should paint the eyes and nose as it would make it stand out. I love it and thanks for sharing.

What an excellent idea.  Some little girl would love that to hide her treasure in.

Merlin

I am working on producing it.  I have my rough and ready pattern that I made, but had to adjust when making the first bunny.  I am incorporating the changes .. will have to make another with the new plans and see what I missed.

OK here is the pattern for the bunny box.  This box is pretty easy to make.  You will however have to shape the head and body somewhat.
