Looks like they doubled the price so they could give 50% off, but I haven't checked prices lately.

I would say that is a good price for a quality machine, I think the Excalibur 21 is around $800 US

Well no, The list price is over $900. The manufacturer sets the list price. the retailer sets their selling price. Amazon is just displaying the list price to make their sale price look better.

Thanks as I said I hadn't priced any lately and didn't know if that was a good price or not.

CPO Outlets has web site with many major brands new and they also have a reconditioned outlet where you can get some sweet deals
Just looked and they don't have any dewalt scroll saws right now but they get them off and on just have to keep track, right now in the reconditioned store only have a skil, ryobi and a dremel.
