Title: cutting up CD's

Anyone ever tried to cut up and use old CD's in a project?

There was a article on this in the Holiday Special of the Scrollsaw woodworking & crafts magazine.
They doubled up the CD (shiny side out), cut the CD with a #4 and sanded the edges a bit.
