Title: Making word blocks
Post by: agooday88 on December 01, 2013, 10:08:59 pm
Hi,
I saw a pattern on this site that is called. Inspirational Word Blocks. I love this idea. I noticed that the pattern only came with a few choice words to make. I was wondering if anyone knows how to make these same letters so that I can make my own words.
I would like to make some for my grand kids (with their name ) for Christmas.
I thought I could find that Font on Word Pad, but it wasnt there.
 Thanks all   :D

At the bottom of Steve G web page try the Stencil printer 1.7  .... has the font you want and capabilities to smoosh the letters together as close as you choose. Have fun.

Hi, agooday88,
I tried the search engine on this forum and could not find the word blocks you referenced.
Could you send a link, please, so that I can view the idea you were talking about?
God Bless! Spirithorse

http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/2010/02/inspirational-word-blocks.html.. This is the page that I found it on. I just downloaded  the Stencil pattern maker from S.G and I will mess around with it and see if I can do it there. But if you have any other ideas, I am all ears. thanks :)

You can also reduce the spacing between letters in Microsoft Word.
The technical name for this is KERNING.
Here is one tutorial
http://www.word.tips.net/T001130_Changing_Kerning.html
but, you can probably find better tutorials with video on www.youtube.com
with a search of KERNING IN WORD or something similar.
