I made this box as a Christmas present to my sibling. It does not have a lot of scroll saw work but I needed to cut the name in reverse from the inside of the lid - I did it to avoid tear out. I made a video to show this and it can be seen from 1:48 in the video below.

I am not sure how much tear out there would have been with the bottom surface unsupported but I am happy with the result.

Very nice project/video. Thanks for showing us. PS if you scrolled the name in before routing in the lid, you would have routed away any tear out. But that would have meant scrolling the name through the thicker lid. That wouldn't have been my choice. I think you had it planed out perfect. Cheers Brian

@Brian I did plan to scroll first rout the lid and then do the scrolling since I like scrolling through thinner material. Luckily I did not have any tear out since this would have been on the outside of the lid and thus more visible.
