The Coffee Shop / I lost my best friend

My wife passed away on Saturday 08/29 just 2 days shy of our 52nd anniversary. She was ill for 3 years and I became her full time care giver, It was a very emotional and stressful 3 years. I had her see many specialist and admitted to UC Davis and other hospitals. No one was able to come up with a definitive diagnosis. She was in severe pain 24/7 and lost 130 lbs. She was placed on Hospice care 7 days ago but on Thursday she lapsed into a coma and never came out of it. I will be going through a long period of recovery and adjustment. Please keep me in your prayers so that I will remain strong.

GB it's great to see you back in action, we all missed you and I for one am looking forward to seeing pictures of your most recent cuttings. Go slow my friend, give yourself some ample time to heal. As for your sweaty arms, you need to get rid of those dancing girls you have hanging around your saw.
Gotcha.

My sincere thanks to all of you for the kind words and encouragements, well it is official, I went back to the doctor yesterday and was told that I have COPD, which was caused by my inhaling toxic sawdust over the years. it is not curable and I was told to stay away from woodworking if I value my life. I will take some time to adjust my life and in the near future I will get into wood carving. Stay well my friends, I will keep in touch.

The Coffee Shop / The End Of My Woodworking Days

I have been woodworking for 68 years since I was introduced to it in my High School Shop. I have really enjoyed it over the years but sadly I must quit. As of late I have had trouble breathing and have developed a chronic cough. I visited my doctor and after a few tests and X-Rays he told me that all of the toxic sawdust I breath in has weakened my lungs so He advised me to quit before my condition worsens. I have decided to take his advice. I will continue to visit this site as I enjoyed interfacing with the many great members on the forum. Over the next couple of months I will be selling all of my tools, woodworking books and plans of which I have Hundreds.

Kepy, I could not agree more, All  players are over rated and over paid. They show no sportsmanship and are not very good Role Models for our children. They are always shoving, hitting and tripping opposing players. I do not have any interest in sports anymore.
