Am well pleased with my 40-694.  I take it apart every year and grease it.  Have not spent a dime repairing the saw, but it did wear out one foot switch.

I have a home made wood stand.  Placed 2" foam between the top of the stand and the saw.  I think every little bit that you try helps.

Jay,

Our oldest son is a computer programmer for several clients.  He is in his very early 50s and have done that since college.  He uses McAfee, as do we.  When I explained that we were blocked, here is part of an e-mail he sent.  Hope the print is big enough to read.

Today when I try to log in to Scroll Saw Village, my anti virus tells me not to.

Anyone else experience this?

I bought a bench top from Menards and have no complaints.  Have had poor luck with anything made by Wen, but that was years ago.  Don't know if they have their act together now.

Our son has a computer programming company.  I sent him the info.  He replied, "It looks like the host company has a major error, to the point that they can't even put up a notification of what is wrong.  There is nothing we can do on our end."

Steve's free pattern 4/18/16 is for a scrolled Horses Butt.  I also do wood carving.  15 years ago I was asked to do a horse's A___  carving for a neighbor.  It was given to a relative.

I store my  blades in empty water bottles.  Remove the label, print the blade type & size on the printer.  Scotch tape it to the bottle.  When I take out a new blade, turn that bottle up-side-down to remind me what I'm using.  Put a rubber band around the top & bottom and put your "slightly used" blade on the outside of the bottle.  Store the bottles in a shop built "spice rack" that allows your printed labels to show.
