fame of shame! my first butterfly
« on: January 03, 2011, 04:10:06 pm »
Hey!

I recently complained about my saw and some vibrations (Clickedy).

I saw Marshall have done a butterfly really beautifully and tonight I tried to go for the high goal and to try the butterfly myself. I changed the size a bit - it's 8" x 8". Took me about 2 hours of fun in the wood shop. it's 1/8" birch ply and a piece of beech for the body.

And here it is:

Of courses not as good as Marshall's butterfly!
But hey, it looks neat and made me convinced of what I'm doing  :)
Need to apply oil tomorrow.

now it's time to wash the dust of and get a beer...

regards,
Torsten

That looks wonderful, Torsten!  (And let me welcome you to the site!) Two hours is a great time for someone so new!  I think it is really cool that you are so enthusiastic about scrolling and you will find that the people here are the BEST!  We have a great group who are always willing to help each other.

Congratulations on your beautiful project!  I hope to see many, many more from you!

Sheila :)

thank you.

Yes, vibrations are under control, partly minimized, partly did I get used to them.

Torsten
