My table is worn.  I remember some time ago a forum member had his table coated with Teflon.  I need your help in locating a company who can do this job or a supplier for the material so I can apply the coating.  I'm in Pennsylvania, USA.   Thanks very much.

Lowes sells a DuPont Teflon treatment in a bottle. You spread it on then wait for the alcohol (or whatever is the carrier for the Teflon) to evaporate, leaving the Teflon on the table.

You could also try Johnson's Paste Wax. Might not last as long, but it works.

I use the paste wax and like it. I use it about every 3 to 4 months. Just put a thin coat on the table, let it dry then buff.Makes the wood slide and move better while cutting. Have never used the Teflon treatment, will check it out.

Yes that's the one I was talking about. I tried it and it worked OK. But be warned the instructions are not too clear. You are apparently supposed to get it spread across the surface so it's all wet then let the carrier evaporate, leaving the Teflon. It's not like a normal liquid treatment that you'd just rub on and off - more like letting the paste wax sit, but no buffing when it's dry.

Save yourself a lot of money and cover table with a piece of formica. I have done this for years and it works great.

Works great.  Easy to apply.  Not quite as slippery as Johnson's Paste Wax.  Price is right.  Doesn't take alot of it for my Ex table.   I like it.

We have Teflon cookware.  I guess it's safe.
