Ok I broke down and got the Porter Cable saw. Yes I've used it.. Love the cutting hate the blade changes.. :o But at least I have a variable speed saw. If this one lasts as long as my old Craftsman I'll be doing good. The Craftsman was with me from 1996-2011.. Guess I can't complain.. ;D The Porter Cable is a nice saw for what I do and for the price.. Thanks Katie for the info on it.. Sheila in Tx

What about the blade changes don't you like?
-
Congratulations on the new saw Sheila. Hopefully you will get used to the clamps.
-
Katie they are left handed and difficult for me to get too.. I'll get used to it. Thanks for asking.. Sheila

Hey Sheila, Can the clamps be removed and reversed?
-
Sheila,
That's the same clamps I use - check this http://stevedgood.com/community/index.php?topic=6303.0
Just unscrew them and mount the top clamp on the bottom arm, the bottom clamp on the top arm. No big deal.
The clamps work absolute fine, I even have modified my Hegner to use these clamps. They are kind of perfect.
